Shen almost laughed when Yulin claimed to be the best General. She was pretty good but not that good. Her age was still young compared to Rie's and Sze had such a calm exterior as a General .. he figured Yulin would rush at everyone in rage. Besides, the men would complain that a female was officially in charge. Raising his right brow he gave Yulin a confused look. "Wh.. what?" Shen stammered, knowing exactly what Yulin had on her mind.
"Why would you even say something like that?" Shen asked, though his face stated a different question: 'is it that obvious?'

She threw him a sly glance coupled with a slow smile. "Well," she began, idly fingering a few strands of hair between her index and middle finger. Her eyes turned to the left, as if in deep thought, before fixing their attention back on Shen with a smirk. "Quite frankly, yes."

"Yes?" Shen repeated, the expression on his face puzzled. He understood what she meant that yes it was obvious there were feelings for the General. However, it couldn't have been that obvious if Sze didn't notice it or even question it. Feeling slightly uncomfortable with the topic, he knitted his brows together. "We just have a close friendship, is all," he stated the obvious, though making it sound like the crush didn't exist.

She nodded understandingly, almost innocently. "Yes, that's true," she conceded, as if patiently appeasing a child, inwardly laughing at the predictable expression that had crossed Shen's face.
The whole world may not have noticed the young man's affections, but they would if they only paid enough attention. Yulin made it a habit to watch people closely, and considering that she had known the two since her training days, she was probably one of the first people that had figured out - in fact, she might've realized it before Shen himself. And...well...everyone would realize it before Sze did. It wasn't pity, but it sure did spark a sense of sympathy for the Lieutenant General.

Was.. Yulin taunting him? Shen could feel his face warm up, either from embarrassment or anger. Quite suddenly he crossed his arms over his chest. By adjusting his position one could tell that he had grown impatient with the woman. "Anything else, while you're here?" he asked, the tone of his voice flat.

The shift in attitude was no news to her. It seemed like whenever she appeared in the vicinity, Shen always somehow became like this. In a way, it was relieving - it meant that the things on his mind were no longer as pressing on his mind, if he still had the time to be pouting. She smiled, waving one hand in the air. "How about a cup of tea while you're at it, Shen-shen~?"

"I don't have any," Shen said instantly, wanting Yulin to know that he was annoyed with her (very true) accusations about Sze. Also, he wasn't so sure if making tea was probably the best thing to do when everyone else in the camp would be under privileged for a 'luxury'. "Though I am pretty sure the person in charge of tea does.." and that person was located on the opposite side of the camp. Slowly, he gave the girl a smile.

Yulin returned the smile in kind, though hers was a little more forced than the one on Shen's lips. "Is that so?" she murmured, meaning it more like an interlude than an question. "That's such a shame, then!" she crooned, opening her mouth into a dramatic little 'o' of surprise. "And here I heard that Shen-shen's tea was just heavenly considering how much Boya likes it. That's really a pity."

"If you want to get the water ready, then maybe.." Shen bit back, not wanting to start a verbal fight with Yulin. If he did there would be so many consequences. She was a General and as a Lieutenant he had to always stay undermined to that position. However, using Sze against him always worked.

It wasn't nearly as entertaining when Shen didn't bite back, and she had to inwardly scold herself for even dragging the other general into the little verbal spat - she had known his very mention would have Shen comically obedient. "Ah, nevermind then, it's too much of a hassle!" she dismissed the subject with a shrug. It was about time to be going anyway - she had done everything she needed to.
"I think," she began, looking over her shoulder at the door. "That I'll be leaving now. Hold off on your celebrating after I'm out of hearing distance, okay~?" She grinned in good humor and then pointed at the papers on the floor. "And get yourself some real reading material, not this boring, repetitive stuff that old fat men write." With that last piece of advice, she ducked out the door.
