Shen almost turned his head when he caught movement from Kamlong. He didn't want to stare just incase it made the other feel guilty for being mad, when he deserved to - he had the right. However, he was surprised to see Kamlong reach over and place a shawl in his lap. Shen stared down at the shawl for a minute, picking it up with his right hand. He seemed fixated on the object for a moment, glad the horse knew to keep moving. There was no reason to ignore the fact that he didn't deserve any comfort away from the cold but if he tried to return the shawl .. would Kamlong get offended?
It was a simple act but it meant a lot to him. Instead of making it complicated he unraveled the shawl and placed it over his shoulders, glad it blocked some of the cold air from getting to him. "Thank you, Kamlong.." he said, making sure his eyes didn't go past the General's horse.

The grin on Naia's face grew a little when Akihito looked back at him. "Invincible might be stretching it, but I know I'm harder to kill than I look - I hope the same goes for them." He nodded towards the pair ahead of them.
The light snow was beginning to build up, white flakes clinging and melting into his horse's mane and on his own clothing. Holding the reins in one hand, Naia brushed off his left shoulder and sleeve to dislodge some of the water before it soaked too deeply.
"You won't die on us, either?" He asked, one eyebrow barely lifted and the grin still in place.

Akihito watched Naia brush his shoulder off - he liked to admire meaningless moments like this. The snow was something he enjoyed very much, knowing he found himself content to just lie in the cold. To see snowfall while in China was definitely a gift. At the question, he let out a muffled laugh - his hand to his mouth so the two ahead of them wouldn't think much of it. "No, I have a lot to live for," he responded, hand gesturing back towards the reign.
There was something he wanted to talk to Naia about but he couldn't find enough courage to bring it up. Instead he just stared at his companion. It would take awhile to notice the moisture and cold sinking into his clothing.

A glance in Shen's direction was the only indication he had heard the thanks at all. His eyes widened; Shen had never called him by his first name before. "We should be at the checking gate soon," he called out, deciding he shouldn't think too much of that exchange, loud enough for everyone in their travelling party to hear. "Prince, you might want to wear something to cover those Japanese clothes of yours when we do. We shouldn't have too much trouble getting through, but that could still stir up some questions we can do without."

Though he had been enjoying the sight of the plain dusted with white and the snowflakes whirling around them, Naia was glad that they'd soon be through with riding. He looked over to Akihito again, looking him over - the prince did stand out.
"You'll be warmer than the rest of us, wearing an extra layer," he commented. Lucky - it'll be chilly at sea, at this time of year.

At the sound of Kamlong's voice he raised his head. With the instructions he nodded his head and let go of the reigns for a second to dig through one of the strapped on luggage. He was sure he didn't pack anything to cover up his attire but was surprised to see cotton cloak. Folding it out he draped it over his shoulders and fastened it, glad it was long enough to hang down to his thighs.
Once satisfied he reached for his reigns again and turned his head to give Naia a soft smile. "When we're through the checking gate you can have wear it, Naia. I really don't need it.."

With that matter dealt with, he turned back towards the road. Very faintly, he could see the trees in the vicinity begin to become sparse in the distance - a sure sign of civilization nearby. The trip would've normally been a short one, but their tense silence had made it seem exceedingly long. Kamlong just hoped they would be able to put their differences aside before every stretch of travel became this difficult to bear.

Akihito was silent for the rest of the trip, picturing a more lively conversation with everyone else. Yet that was such an unrealistic idea that he frowned even thinking about it. He seemed to be bored and unimpressed with everything going on until the lids of his eyes widened when he noted the sign of civilization. About to say something about it he stopped himself and sat up straight. Assuming everyone else was well aware of arriving to the checking gate, he folded the overcoat closer to his frame.
