Yuudai held back from responding to the other's words, biting his tongue. He knew if he spoke now he would spiral into regret - his mind was too fatigue to make any proper judgments. There was a reason he had woke Yuuto up, after all. He was just happy Yuuto was silent on the way to his room, saving him from a world of agitation. The sooner the bett -- he thought, the lids of his eyes alerting themselves into a widened stance. His cousin's hand was warm on top of his, causing his fingers to twitch ever so slightly.
Tilting his chin up he took in vision of Yuuto's face, breathing in. "..Yuu-san.." he breathed out, trying to find grounds to anchor himself on. "Would you like to enter first?" Hate it when he does this, him and his damn smile.. and his head turned away.

After so many years together- both of them raised to be practically one person- Yuudai was something more than a cousin and less than a lover. While others took the younger Asai's emotions, or lack thereof, for face-value, Yuuto was able to easily read the subtle body language. He squeezed Yuudai's hand in understanding, and lowered his voice to a mellow hush.
"You need sleep, Dai-kun. Afterward, you can retire to my room, and I'll stay with you while you sleep." Then, like every time the subject arose, he posed it as a question. "If you'd like?"
Yuuto was always sure to make it an invitation instead of an order. There was an understanding between them, that Yuuto shared his space and his life with his younger cousin because he wanted to, not because it was his duty as a leader to do so. Yuuto's care was of a personal nature. He wanted Yuudai to retain his sense of dignity even in his dependency, and also hoped for the time when Yuudai would overcome his inner demons- a time when he would decline the offer with certainty.

His eyes focused on his cousin's hand, transfixed until the squeeze brought him back to his senses. Sometimes he didn't know why Yuuto could read what little he had to offer, but it made him feel thankful to know someone could interpret his actions with very little words. Gently did his hand move down the frame of the door, allowing the chill of the air to surface over his flesh.
Sleep. No matter how nice it sounds it is only false and temporary.. it would appear that he carried his flaw like a heavy burden and always noted when the burden affected those around him. The world 'no' mouthed off his lips but the opposite spilled right out, "I'd like that - unless it's too much trouble, I understand." Yuudai always added how he felt about it, no matter how much gratitude he voiced or expressed. Before Yuuto could answer him he slowly opened the door to stare down at Omi's figure. Slipping in he got a little closer and gestured his hand for Yuuto to see.
But to his avail Nakamura Omi had fallen asleep.

The man, Nakamura Omi, was stained with black soot and mild burns. His wounds looked taxing, painful, but likely not life-threatening. Their guest would eventually be able to leave under his own power, but would need great care during the days to come. Yuuto knew it would be best to leave him in his current position, even if that would deny Yuudai his privacy until Omi was better healed.
Yuuto circled around the futon quietly and cocked his head in consideration. His arms folded inside the yukata sleeves, fingers clenching against strong forearms as his anger crested. Again the Shogun had left nothing but devastation in his wake, and again Yuuto had been helpless to stop him. He could only pick up the pieces as best he could. The Asai clan would extend their hand to this fallen ally.
"He can't be moved for now," he glanced up at Yuudai, the frown evident even in his whisper. "I'm sorry. I'll have a guest room prepared for you today, or you are welcome to share with me until he's recovered more."
Yuuto rolled his shoulders, forcing his body to relax. He contemplated Omi's face, the outline of his body beneath the blankets, and guessed him to be around the age of Yuudai. Hopefully the injured man would easier adapt to the loss of his old life, rather than face the difficulties the Asai had waded through with the young Kohana.
"I expect you to oversee our guest during his stay. Make sure he stays out of trouble; there's no reason to trust him very far at this stage." He paused, absently scratching at the scar across his cheek.
"Don't tell anyone outside of this house who he is, or that he's staying here. At least until we have a better understanding of the situation."

Yuudai observed his cousin quietly, waiting for the decision. He looked almost hopeful but in a minutes time his head craned to the right side. There was no reason to wish a wounded man away from recovery but he was doing so anyways. Why do I have to baby sit him? he thought to himself. Of course he knew Yuuto had very good valid reasons to stick him with Omi and it was not his position to question the leader.
"As you wish," did he very commonly use the words, head moving upright once more. Taking a few steps around the futon his eyes examined Omi before taking notice of the scar on Yuuto's face. Often times he tried not stare but it seemed difficult to look away. "And.. uh..." shit, what was I going to say?

Suddenly amused, Yuuto's grin flashed white even in the darkened room. He strolled toward Yuudai, pausing to lay a sympathetic hand upon his cousin's shoulder.
"Congratulations," he said, giving the solid muscle beneath his palm a firm pat. "It's a boy."
Yuuto shook his head in pity, and still smiling made his way down the corridor back to his bedroom, leaving his stunned cousin alone with Nakamura. He gave a good stretch of his muscles- joints popping in protest- and flung himself heavily back into the futon. Yuudai wouldn't be far behind, and Yuuto felt certain he could catch another hour of sleep while he and his cousin shared the bedding.

Shocked couldn't even describe the expression on his face, and his eyes followed after Yuuto. "W-what?" he asked, knowing no one would hear him. Glancing down to Omi and then back up he slowly shook his head and stormed off after his cousin. He opened the door and noticed Yuuto in bed and slowly mumbled to himself: "I hope you have kids and your wife dies from child labor." With how fray he was looking he rested himself next to the other, reaching over to slowly nudge his cousin over before gracefully falling over, instantly out in a haze of dreams.
