Talents: strategy, go [board game], writing and calligraphy, riding
Inabilities: to let others think for themselves, to consider his own safety, to yield, to go against bushido, to master archery
General Personality:
Typically, Yuuto possesses a gentle, serene demeanor. He shows the commoners strong affection, and makes their happiness top priority. By acting like "a man" and not "a man in power," Yuuto has gained great reverence and respect among the fellow samurai. He is loyal to a fault, yet only to those he deems worthy of that loyalty.
However, when it comes to bushido and the battlefield, Yuuto seems to become a completely different man. He is cold and calculating during confrontations, a commanding leader for his clan and a fearsome enemy for anyone he crosses. He would rather defeat his enemies using wit alone, but if that tactic fails, Yuuto is more than capable of wielding strength.
Historical Background
General History:
Yuuto grew up in Chiba as the successor to the honorable Asai clan, samurai that have directly protected the royal family from the earliest ancestor. Even as a child Yuuto's life revolved around bushido, and at an early age he was sent to the Orie family's kyuudo school to improve his archery skills, which resulted in a lifelong friendship between Yuuto and the elderly Orie clan master- Orie Kazuya-sensei.
Growing up around the poverty and hardship of the commoners helped to sculpt Yuuto's ideals. He vowed that he would not only use his sword in the service of the imperial family, but to also better the conditions of Japan's people. So once he was of age to lead the Asai clan, Yuuto spent time in Edo to strengthen his bond with the imperial family. He was made general of the imperial army for all his efforts, but most of the aristocracy remained deaf to his suggestions, seeing him mostly for a barbarian.
Yuuto did, however, become fast friends with the young Koyada prince, becoming more like a brother and less like a servant. As Akihito grew, Yuuto found he shared the same ideals as the prince and had great hopes for the improvement of Japan. But Akihito was never allowed into true power at the order of the Shogun, and conditions of the land continued to decline.
Through his skill and achievement, Yuuto has risen as one of the Shogun's most reliable confidants. However, he is using his power and millitary intelligence in the army to construct an underground that will rightfully place the royal family into reign, and overthrow the Shogun from power.
