Style: Kohana's fighting style mimics the smooth grace of dancing. Though lacking physical strength, the twists and turns of this form easily allow her to dodge both long and short range attacks. Her style is primarily used to defensively unarm the opponent, but can also be manipulated to inflict weak offensive damage.
Thoughts on Battle: If possible, Kohana would rather win a battle without a significant loss of life to either side. Even though she enjoys the rush of a good fight, her thrill lies in the power she wields and not in the kill. Kohana will exhaust every other means of rendering her enemy defenseless before drawing blood.

General Personality: Though naturally very beautiful, Kohana is a bit of a tomboy. She doesn't enjoy the things that girls should and would rather practice fighting drills with the Asai samurai. As a result, Kohana became an outcast to the children of Chiba, growing into a very withdrawn young woman. Weary of being rejected and ridiculed, she finds it safer to bottle up her feelings from those around.
Historical Background
General History:
Kohana was born into a small, destitute village in Hokkaido. At around age three, she was abandoned by her parents, as many families began to leave in search of new lives. Nearly dead with hunger, Kohana was discovered by Asai clansmen traveling from Honshu to help the poverty stricken towns. She was taken back to Chiba to be adopted into the Asai house, and the young Asai samurai heir, Asai Yuuto, gave her the name Asai Kohana.
Over the years, Yuuto became both brother and father figure to Kohana, but she remained apprehensive toward the villagers not of the Asai household. She would cling to Yuuto through night and day, and it was no surprise when she only became interested in activities better suited to boys.
In a last-ditch effort to turn Kohana on to a more feminine path, Yuuto hired a dance teacher to polish up the tomboy. Although Kohana remained uninterested in being a lady, her mastery of dance inspired Yuuto to combine it with her love of combat styles. Kohana aspired to impress the other children through her skills, but found herself shunned as an oddity rather than praised as a prodigy.
Now grown into a woman, Kohana remains quiet and reserved, but able to hold her own. Yuuto is still the focal point of her world, and she uses her talent as a fighter to defend the man that protected her as a child. She hopes that by aiding the anti-shogunate faction, she can prevent the Shogun from creating more orphans like herself.
