Naia bowed likewise, following Xue once Yulin had gone. He glanced around, from the still-dark sky to the nearby tents to the points of light scattered throughout the camp.
"I guess he'd be near his tent, at least," Naia mused, "unless he has business with another general, or one of his soldiers... I wonder." Looking back to Xue again at the young soldier's question, he grinned. "No, afraid I don't. I'm really regretting missing roll call, now..."

"I'm probably not the best one to find General Sze," Xue fretted, biting his lip. "I gave him so much trouble before, I'm sure he doesn't want me bothering him... I mean, what if he's doing something official? I'd be really annoyed if I interrupted... me." Taking a moment to understand the logic of his own statement, Xue began to back up. "Maybe you should do it, Jun."

"Oh? I'll do what I can," Naia replied, coming to a halt. He pulled at a strand of hair that had come lose from its binding and was getting in his eyes, brows furrowing for a few seconds. "I don't think he'd be too bothered if you found him, though. You're on official business from General Kwok, of course." After flashing another quick grin, he turned and started to walk again, towards the section of camp in which he'd first met Xue the previous day. It was much more difficult to locate in the darkness, as always, but he could estimate the direction from the stars and go by dead reckoning from there.
"If he's not in his tent at this hour, I wonder where he would be," he thought aloud. "Do you know who he's close to? I suppose he could be meeting with someone under his command, as well..."

"Someone under his command..." Insecurities forgotten, Xue's face completely lit up. "That's right! He's probably with Lieutenant General Shen right now... and I know where his tent is, too! Here, this way." Xue turned around, striding in the opposite direction from which they'd been walking.

"Oh, good," Naia said quickly, turning to follow Xue as he wove through the sea of tents - guess my sense of direction wasn't so right after all - until they arrived at the dwelling in question.
Oh, he wished he could have a few moments to listen. It must be important, for them to be meeting at this time of morning - what Naia would have given to be able to eavesdrop for a while! With Xue waiting, though, that would hardly be a safe plan. Not before memorizing its location as surely as he could, Naia approached the entryway. "Begging your pardon, but is General Sze here?"

Shen was about to argue over their current position, whether staying in the area was good or not. Though the whole point of Sze talking to him was to configure the fact that they were about to move, however, he liked to make sure all possibilities were surveyed. His eyes were focused on Kamlong's face. Shen was about to say something about the transporation method until a voice had called out and his mouth closed. He was about to say something like: why? but he knew it wasn't his place. Giving an exchanging glance to Sze he turned around to open the side of the tent with the back of his hand.
He found himself staring at an unfamiliar face, though he could see Xue behind him. It had to be trouble; he found no other reason for someone to be looking for Sze. "He is," Shen said sharply, giving a dark stare to Naia.

Shen pushed up off the chair Shen had pulled out for him, and rolled up the maps in his hand slowly, tying them into a column with a string. He followed Shen to the door, and then gently wedged past the Lieutenant General, into the open. He was a little surprised to find that the sky was already dark; he hadn't realized the time had gone by so quickly. "Who is looking for me?" he asked, coming to face the two soldiers. "Ah, Zhong Xue."
His eyes flitted to the side, coming to rest on the other man present. "And who is this?"

"Forgive the interruption, General Sze, Lieutenant General Shen!" Xue bowed hurriedly, and so low that he came close to touching the ground. "General Kwok sent me to find you, General Sze," he continued to the ground. "I think she had something to discuss with you."

Naia decided he was lucky that Xue was with him; so surprised by the lieutenant general's glare that he momentarily forgot every word in Chinese that he had ever learned, he ducked into a bow and let Xue explain why they had come.
Once he had regained control of his vocabulary, he answered the general's question. "Xie Jun, sir," he enunciated firmly. "General Kwok would like to see you at her tent, if you have a moment."

After Sze stepped out he followed after and glanced between the two. He had never seen this Jun person before. How did Yulin know him? A lot of things brought up questioning at the moment. Yulin was the type to seek out Sze if she needed something. Perhaps something bad had happened. Crossing his arms over his chest, his intense stare landed back on 'Jun'.

"General Kwok sent you to find me?" repeated Kamlong, growing a little more guarded by the second. Yulin stubbornly prided herself on doing things without help, regardless of how inefficient it sometimes was. "Ah, I see," he continued, nodding with an understanding smile. He turned to Shen, facing such an angle so that neither of the other two soldiers could see his face.
"In that case, I'll be taking my leave now. Thank you for your help, Shen," he said, the pleasant expression was replaced by an unspoken message once out of their line of sight. Keep an eye out, it said. Something's off. "Goodnight."
"Thank you, Zhong Xue, Xie Jun," he said, once again facing forward. "You're probably a late recruit, right? Did the weather impede you? Regardless, it's good that you've only missed a day, and nothing of real importance. Anyway, it's a pleasure to meet you. I'll be going to meet with General Kwok now, then. I suggest you two turn in for tonight, as well. It's good to get as much rest as you can, since we will be moving on soon."

"Moving on?" Xue asked, instantly regretting it. That's official business, idiot... don't press General Sze about it. "We'll be ready, sir... I'm sorry again to interrupt you and the Lieutenant General."
Xue cast a quick glance at Naia, narrowing his eyes. They've all been treating him normally so far... maybe Xiao's wrong after all, he thought, frowning. Hmm... maybe if I keep an eye on Jun for a while, I can see for myself! Xiao won't get mad if it's just to make sure he doesn't pull anything weird, probably.

There is a lesson to be learned, here, Naia decided. He kept his eyes on Kamlong, though he could see from the corner of his vision that Shen was still eyeing him as he would a large and ugly insect he'd just found in his dinner. Whether or not General Kwok finds someone intimidating means absolutely nothing.
Kamlong left no time for Naia to reply to any of his inquiries, so he simply bowed obediently. Moving on? Finding out where to would be a good start. Best to wait until morning with that, though. "Thank you, sir," he said at last. "Please forgive our intrusion."

Shen raised his right brow, slightly confused as to why the two were still standing by him. He wanted nothing to do with either of them, but the look Sze gave him told him to keep an eye out on the two to see if they would do anything suspicious. Shen took no heart to the apologies. "Have you two been given orders yet?" he asked curiously, not only eyeing Jun this time around but he also stared at Xue.

"Haha, I don't think I've given any notice for the night duties yet," admitted Kamlong, with laugh. "I was with you the entire time, after all, Lieutenant General. Why don't you come with me, Zhong Xue. I'll go and give the men their orders. Xie Jun, I'm afraid you'll have to report back to your general for your commands. Thank you for introducing yourself to me." He laid his hand softly on the shorter soldier's shoulder, and gently steered him towards the center of their camp.
