"Well, good that you got out of there then," Orie responded shortly. Ultimately, he didn't care. He had enough to worry about, with the consequences of letting Akihito run away awaiting him. He supposed that the prince was most likely no longer alive though, just like the rest of the population. He hadn't found the boy in the town no matter how hard he looked, and he was sure the noble had hidden in some China-bound ship. Alone in that foreign enemy country, he was as good as dead.
If the girl were nicer (and not a real threat to his well-being), he supposed he would've apologized to her for leading her fiancee to that end, but he wasn't so eager to get stuck through with needle holes. "I'm not going to tell the Shogun, so rest easy. I doubt he'd care about any news he'd receive from a commoner like me," he explained. "Now if you'll excuse me, I've got an appointment waiting."

She bowed partially, indicating that she would let him leave without hassle. "Yes, of course, by all means. I apologize for harassing you so badly."
Then she turned around and began to walk off, hastily slipping the hood back over her face so that her features couldn't be seen. Still she had no idea where to go but she really couldn't stay here. Without thinking about where she was going she just walked with her head down and her mind going, never staying on one thought for long.
