((This is basically a one-shot thing to further the plot ^^))
It had taken the better part of 2 hours for all the people down below to become the crowd that they were now. the speculations on just why they were here had been flying around for most of that time as well. Akiyama enjoyed letting them mill about and come to their own conclusions.
He was sitting on the emperors bed at the moment and smiling wickedly, waiting for the appropriate time to make his very important announcement. This bed would soon be his anyway, there were some decorations that needed to be changed. Akihito had odd taste and Akiyama was not all that fond of it. Hmm if he was going to make the announcement that he was that also made him entitled to one other thing...she would not be happy to hear that. Hopefully her loyalty to her country would change her tune. He would love giving her this news, it would make her so mad and even more fun to continue try to break.
Standing up he walked out to the balcony, people immediately hushed upon seeing him. Some had still held out for it to be the Prince...everyone was afraid of Akiyama and his wrath. He was not someone you mess with. Smiling down at them, an expression that never reached his eyes, he cleared his throat and opened it up. He needed to be able to talk loudly so that they could all hear him.
"Citizens of Japan. On this day I have a most wonderful announcement to make. But first I would like everyone to take a moment of silence for our Prince." He watched them obediently lower their heads and bit back a laugh, simpletons really.
"Now that we have done that let us get on to the real news. In the tragic absence of our beloved Prince I have made a few decisions that were difficult I assure you, but completely necessary. As of today I am your Emperor! You shall refer to me as Emperor Kisho from now on!" He stepped back and let that announcement roll in their heads for a few minutes. No sense in overloading their minds just yet.
He walked back up and looked down at them, like a wolf at a defenseless flock of sheep. "I know it is sudden but this country needs a strong backing and that is something I can, and will, provide. Because we are going to war, a war with China. We cannot let them get away with killing the Prince and stopping trade as they have! They are trying to make us weak! We will show them that Japan is never weak! We move by the end of the week. All volunteers shall need to report to the usual place at the end of today." Nodding down at them he knew that many would volunteer, and not just because of his reputation but also because they were loyal to their country.
"One last announcement. I shall be getting married the same day the troops move out. Prince Akihito's fiance was to marry the new Emperor, and that is me. I will do my best to make healthy heirs." Smirking now he turned around and walked off. Everything was set into place, time to inform his blushing bride to be. Dark laughter followed him as he left.
