Ah, Yuki was one of those mean ones. Lavished in their pretty laces and gold, trained to defend themselves privately and grown up to be an ambitious individual mind! How he loathed that train of thought, it sounded just like his wife. Likewise, his gaze drifted to the left when she spoke. She was babbling about something until he suddenly said: "Shut up." His voice had a bite to it, he hated soon-to-be (or suppose-to-be) royalty. He hated the Prince, he didn't like Akiyama, and he was starting to not-like this girl. Or maybe because she assumed that everything he said was what he thought.
"You do realize what situation you're in, Yuki?" he said quietly, eyes averting back to the girl to give her a bland stare. "I think it's funny that you were about to take the throne next to Akihito, only to well say: defend yourself because your mind-frame can only take care of yourself and your physical stature is weak. And then you muse over the little things like, who believes who is best for whom? Hell, I don't give a shit if you're out here wandering around at night and get killed or start a family else where. Or if you die and rot alone out in the islands where no civilization exists," as he was saying this his voice held no emotions, all of it nonchalant.
"You're ignorant; you're pampered, coddled for your own good and you sit here and preach about individualism and freedom when you don't know how hard it is for people who have to break their backs and scar their hands just to make a decent family for their family. It's a step of trust, and a lesson learned. It's disgusting to think people are bred to love people they don't trust and want, and when they do something always goes wrong," now his voice gained a hint of malice and his eyes darkened. Kyo stepped forward towards the girl, he was too quick - he could do many things with her hair and clothing. "I don't care about your life, you probably don't care about mine. But maybe if people worked together, then something would happen. Maybe."
And then he started again: "Maybe, you should be hurt for once. To really know what it means to have your freedom taken away," his posture made him look weak and insane.

He had a lot to say, and some of it was nearly impossible to follow. The confusion was apparent in her eyes, that and he knew who she was. She had to remain calm, it was the only thing that would get her through this, but now instead of anger she felt fear. Her hands went behind her back and stayed there, if she had to fight him she would...there was no way she would just stand there and let him harm her, or whatever he had planned. One each side, hidden in the back behind on her hips were needle pouches, and underneath the batting she had on under her tunic she had her manrikigusari. She may not be as experienced or talented as him, but she would not stand there and take anything.
"Maybe I should be, maybe that isn't up to you to decide either. Now leave me alone and be on your way." She put up a brave front complete with haughty sounding voice. He was like a rabid animal, if he smelled fear he just may bite. People working together was a farce as well, that never really happened, everyone had their own motives at all times...she doubted that he was any different from her or anyone else.

"And you're so used to bossing people around, I mean look at that! You think: just go away and leave me alone - will make me disappear? How rude!" a wide smile cracked on his face and he had noted her change of posture. He had so many battles and fights, and that was one of the most common ones: moving hands to needed weapons, a defensive motion. Although it could become offensive at any second. "Such an attitude," he was considering what he should do. Slowly his left hand reached down to his side, who knew what he was going to do with the gesture.
"Now you're facing another problem and you're about to run away again," his stare was so intense, someone would wonder if he was looking at the girl even. "Why not face it? You know, Akiyama wants me to do something to you. I could, but I said no because I don't want to and he's not God to say it's right or not. Though instead he said Death brings relief when I know it brings art - only to fill up an empty canvas, but the canvas bleeds dry again. So, you have three options with me. Pick one for yourself."

"No I am not facing a problem that I am going to run away from, you sure have a fascination with that don't you? Just because a person wants a break or needs to see something else does not mean that they are running away, maybe you did much of that in your life and you seem to confuse the two." Maybe her mouth was running too much but he annoyed her with his assumptions. She may not have had it really difficult but he had probably not had it so sheltered and locked away. He was no one to tell her anything.
"Well I suppose you will do whatever you want to do, and I will do whatever I need to do. I am not surprised that Akiyama wants you to do something, he is always wanting yet never giving." Three options? What options, she hadn't heard any of them. Stay here and die? Run away and die? Or let him take her to Akiyama and wish she were dead?
"Well if I knew the options I might actually choose one."

"Yeah," he said as though he was actually going to have a normal conversation with her. "But you leave behind everything you had without knowing the true where about of your fiancée, and maybe you didn't care about him at all. Though if you did, why go? And if you want to take your own choices, okay walk away. Change never hurt anyone, and getting rid of the problems is known as problem solving but I don't see how you solve anything by doing what you're doing."
Slowly he lifted the blade and rested it on his shoulder, his fingers still curled around the handle. "It's called being selfish, quite normal in everyone," turning on his foot he stared at the side of the building before walking in that general direction. "I'unno what your choices are, you were sayin' something about freedom and shit. So pick your choices.."

She put a hand up to her head, he was making her poor head hurt. he spoke one way and then another, why couldn't he just talk straight out? Shaking her head to try and clear it of the pain she kept her eyes on him, wary to a fault now that he had acted so odd, though if he really wanted to kidnap her and take her to the Shogun he could probably succeed, with a few cuts and bruises to show for it at least.
"I have heard he is dead, and that his body cannot be found. Even if he isn't dead he is not around. Maybe I could find him on my traveling, but who knows." How could she truly care about someone she didn't really know? She was to be married to that man, if he was still alive, and bare him heirs...if she wasn't able to produce males heirs they would just provide him with a mistress. SO her marital bliss would all depend on her bodies ability. She would have liked to known Akihito better, but it was impossible. A miserable marriage is not what she wanted if she had to be married..
Again she shook her head to clear it of her inner monologue. He should seriously be taken care of, she doubted she was the only one who thought he was out of his mind...way out of it. But he was right, she needed to make her choices, maybe she could find a way over to China and see what is going on, except she did not speak Chinese.
For once she was at a complete loss, she truly did not know what to do. Then a thought came to her, she could always go to where the prince was seen last and skulk about there for a few days, see what happens. "Even though you did it in the oddest way, I suppose I should thank you. I know what I will do now."

Kyo's steps slowed down as he listened to the girl talk, his eyes staring at the dark corners of the buildings before he shook his head. "I believe he'll save everyone's lives, not mine, but surely the country's spark. Even if I do hate him and all you Imperial people," he had placed the girl into that category, and he knew he wasn't 'assuming' such because it was true. However, he was pretty sure he'd get a 'you don't know me personally' speech like he always did. He didn't have to know, because he could feel their power crushing everyone's shoulders like a burden.
"But," he said while he turned his weight to face her, the red of his face glowing. "If you want us to all perish and make a selfish decision to run .. because your influence stands with that kid. I'd hate to see our last hope give up so easily," Kyo started to chuckle, eyes bright and demanding for something he could never get.

She did not like him, that much was becoming painfully obvious in her mind. Oh and wonderful, he hated her. Just perfect...such an interesting cap off to an odd enough day already. All she wanted to do was go investigate...now was not the time to make such severe decisions.
Her influence? What was he talking about? She was so confused, the more she talked to him the more her head hurt. It was starting to make her eyes water, from the pain and she shook her head. "Think what you will. When it comes down to it I shall do what is necessary and nothing less."
Now she walked away from him, nothing more she wanted to hear and nothing more she had to say. It was time to go to the other island, the one he vanished from. She had things to do and little time with which to do it.
