Shikang placed his things on the ground to attend to the canvas, folding it up while taking the edges of the robe and trying the large material within it. Once he was done he placed the canvas over his shoulder and used his free-hand to pick up his belongings. He gave Jun a nod of his head in greeting, also heading in the central area.

Nodding quickly to Shikang as the quiet man turned away, Naia grinned to Xue. "You're not the only ones. I think a few soldiers in General Rie's camp are still asleep. Need any help?" he offered, watching the younger man struggle with the tent and his belongings.

If I don't get to kill something today...I'm going to kill someone.
Such was the early-morning inner monologue of the most unpleasant non-morning person in the entire army. Jiaming had fallen out of bed upon hearing the clamor of camp pack-up. Literally; she'd spent the evening asleep in the very tree she'd been beating up since she'd gotten there. Naturally, taking a tumble like that half-conscious really puts one in the mood for murder in the first degree.
There wasn't much to pack up tent-wise, and knowing her so-called teammates were burdened with that bundle was great consolation for the sore butt. Just had to tie her Jiujieban to her waist and hoist the blacksnake onto her shoulder and head over to the gathering point.
Gradually waking up with each step towards the growing sounds of early-morning grumble and bustle, she squinted blearily around, not really quite sure where she was supposed to go. Shoulda listened better at debriefing...Eah..Whatever.
Once she managed to reach the outskirts of the gathering, she rubbed her eyes, blinked a few times, and took a good look around. Nothing too familiar--Oh, wait. She noticed Xaio and company heading over as well around and raised a hand with a bit of a wave, not really conjuring up the energy to call out to them. Still way. Too early.

"I can manage, thank you!" Xue said cheerfully, hoisting up a few tent poles along with his things. As he glanced over and saw Jiaming walking towards them, he paled visibly; the older recruit had greeted him the previous day with a whipcrack aimed at his head.
"G-G-Good morning..." he mumbled as Jiaming approached them.

Xiao looked as his eyes caught movement, and grinned when he could pick out the face of a new friend out of the sleepy faces mulling around the clearing. "Jiaming!" he called, apparently never at a loss for energy, despite being just forcefully removed from bed. He ran towards the other soldier, almost forgetting he still had sticks in his arms, until a few people ran out of his way to avoid being impaled. "Oh, haha, sorry!" he apologized, as other men shook their heads grumpily at him.
"Be right back," he called to Jiaming, going to the left to deposit his luggage first.

Naia glanced after the line of soldiers he'd been following; it wouldn't matter if he dallied for a few minutes, most likely. They'd all assemble again outside of camp to make sure everyone was with them.
"You're welcome, anyway," he smiled, then followed Xue's glance to a new soldier he didn't recognize. Was he also a late arrival? Heh, Xiaoszi doesn't seem nearly as suspicious of him, he thought wryly. Though, it looked like Xue didn't like this one quite so much; Naia noticed he'd gone pale as a daisy. "Who is that?" he asked, his brows knitting curiously.

"That," Jiaming echoed, after a long yawn, "is Jiaming. Nice to be meeting you..at the crack of dawn. When everyone is at their most keen state of alertness, n'everything.." She smirked a bit, but nodded politely, not really meaning to be so snippy.
"Hiya, Xue," she said more cheerfully, with a cheeky grin. "Hope you're ready for a grand and exciting day of...walking. Don't lag behind, or else!" She shrugged, readjusting the whip resting on her shoulder with a drowsly chuckle.
She'd only just met Xue and the others, but already she'd taken a liking to them. Especially when Xue squeaked like a mouse whenever she made a sudden move towards him; it was hilarious to her.

"Ahaha... don't worry about me, Jiaming... I'll be f-f-fine," Xue stuttered. He still wasn't quite sure what to make of Xiao's new friend; Jiaming seemed nice enough, and it seemed like they would get along just fine, but when she and Xiao were together, it made for a terrifying combination.

"Back!" Xiao greeted, all but appearing out of nowhere behind Xue. Though it seemed like coincidence, it very well may have been strategic thinking to once again make the smaller soldier's life an eternal walk on the line between Frightened and Heart Attack. "Hey, aren'tcha supposed to be with your group? What happened to them? Didya scare 'em off with that ugly face of yours again?" he teased, mock-sneering at Jiaming.

Once Shikang dropped off the smaller section of the canvas, he made his way back towards the peculiar group forming with his team-mates. Raising one brow at the crowd, though mostly because Jiaming showed up as well. He supposed Rie would show up out of no where, too.

"Jiaming," Naia repeated, grinning when it was clear that the new soldier didn't intend to be nasty; he bowed his head slightly, acknowledging that he probably should have asked directly instead of asking Xue. "A pleasure to meet you."
Xiao returned, as did Shikang, and Naia felt quite sorry for Xue who was beginning to look rather scarred. He cast his eyes back on Jiaming, taking in what he could about the young man; something about his posture didn't seem to match up, but Naia chalked that up to the early hour of day.

"Likewise," Jiaming said with a nod, "though I didn't catch your name there. Hiya." She waved slightly to Shikang, not really anticipating a reaction, nor expecting one. When Xaio came back, sneaking behind Xue, she grinned.
But she stuck her tongue out at his remark, then, grinning, said prouly, "Didn't you hear? I'm punishment for misbehavior. They send me from team to team, driving them crazy. You fellas are next. Though you don't realy need my help for the crazy, Xaio; you're just an overachiever."
Truth be told she had no idea where her team was, or where she was supposed to go. She figured she'd get sorted out as things progressed. Wasn't her problem.

Xue jumped about a foot in the air at Xiao's sudden appearance behind him, but tried not to acknowledge it any further than that; that would just encourage him. "Well..." Xue shuffled his feet, suppressing a sigh. He knew he was signing his own death warrant with this. "If you'd like, Jiaming, you c-can stick with us for a while."

"Yeah!" Xiao agreed enthusiastically, having fully recovered from his early morning haze. "We're funner than your boring teammates anyway." He quite enjoyed having a partner in crime.

Shikang, of course, gave no response to the girl accompanying them. He didn't care if she did or not, as long as they left him alone. Jiaming was friendly; however, his gaze landed on Jun.
