Kyo was held in total darkness, and it seemed out for a second. How still and motionless a person could get, especially with him. Although he wasn't that deep into the concussion and he could feel the girl's hand on his head. Finally noticing that he was no longer sitting up, his left hand reached up to rest on top of Sorano's. Although his eyes remained closed. For a moment he figured he was else where and everything was back to 'normal'. Letting his fingers curl around the girl's hand lightly, he tried to open his eyes to see the figure above him but failed to do so.

"Hard to really tell, with all this messy hair of your--eh--" Sorano stopped as the hand moved. In the back of her mind, an exasperated voice yelled, Hair pulling, hand yanking--I can't wait for what's next!, but she ignored it best she could.
Tilting her head and leaning down a bit, she watched the expression on his face. Quietly, she asked, "Are you awake, sir?"

His grasp tightened slightly with a squeeze and the lids of his eyes opened half way. Kyo noticed how close Sorano was, and at the same time his free-hand lifted to touch her hair gently. Quite the opposite from Akiyama's aggressive gestures. "A little," he responded, although his voice wasn't above a whisper. "You're soft," Kyo said this without much thought, still not really recognizing where he was or who he was with.

"Um, thanks?" she offered weakly, and a bit lamely. Obviously the poor guy was suffering a concussion of sorts, so it's not like she should be too upset with the whole disregard-for-personal-space thing. As unnerving as it may be.
Sorano bit her lip as she thought. It wasn't a good idea to move too fast, since it might cause him discomfort. But I can't just sit here like a pet cat...
"Are..you in any pain at all?" she asked gently.

"I don't remember," he replied to the pain-question. Obviously the answer was wrong by nature. Kyo was thinking about that time when he found out all of the lies, and he had been so oblivious and stupid to let it happen. Finally, his fingers uncurled from the girl's hand and moved to rest back at his side. He nudged his head under the girl's hand a bit more, his gaze slowly staring up at Sorano's face in a daze. "You look different."

Different from when? She frowned a little. I guess he thinks I'm someone else.. She felt kind of bad, not really sure what to say to that. Her hand was released, and she left it to rest carefully on his head, not wanting to move it and get it tangled up and caught.
"You hurt your head," she said in the same soft tone. Maybe it'd help some. "You're in Edo's castle...talking to Kisho-san; do you remember?"
This whole situation reminded her of a dream she had once. She found a lost prince in the countryside who didn't remember who he was. It was a stupid dream, and she couldn't really recall the jist of it, and scoffed a bit at herself inwardly for even thinking about it. There's only one person in the room with head problems, remember?

"It hurts now," he said nonchalantly, although by the expression on his face one could tell he was in pain. His eyes took on the girl's face in panic and blinked a few times, trying to get the heavy feeling from his head to disappear. Did he remember what? Kyo remembered a lot of things, but for some reason he wasn't making a connection to his current position. "Sorry.. it wasn't enough," he was almost pleading with Sorano.

"Sorry--" she lifted her hand away from his head, assuming that's what he was referring to. She blinked, a bit confused at his words. "What do you mean?"

"Second chances," Kyo said to the question. He wasn't so sure why she was asking him about it. Slowly, he pieced together the blurred pixels of his stare, noticing the girl wasn't really who he thought she was and he gave a light laugh. "You're.. not really here after all," he mused.

Confused, but sympathetic, Sorano offered an apologetic smile. "I'm sorry, sir."
Guess he doesn't really have it all together yet, she thought. Does he even know he made a deal with that snake in the office down there?
"If you need anything, let me know; I'll see what I can do..okay?"

"Okay," he said in acknowledgement, letting his head turn under the hand while he closed his eyes again. If he would've been a little faster he could have dodged the hit easily and avoided the confusion he placed himself into. And laying here was taking time from his work. "Thank you," he said, finally.

Sorano sighed in that period of silence, staring off across the room, but not really seeing it. Her fingers stroked Kyo's hair faintly, out of impulse as she zoned out. What a weird day. In retrospect, it was probably the weirdest she'd had in years...and that was kind of pathetic. Her lips twitched a bit in a split-second smirk.
The voice jolted her out of her thoughts, and she looked back down at the strange boy. She smiled a bit. He was really weird--but it wasn't all his fault, she figured; that concussion had something to do with it, of course.
"You're welcome," she answered quietly, lifting her head up and gazing across the room again.

Without warning Kyo slowly sat himself up, while reaching his hand over again to take the girl's hand from his head. He held Sorano's fingers within his palm, his forefinger curled around one of her knuckles. It took him awhile to piece things together. Like the fact he didn't like being alone but he hated the wrong company as well, so he ended up killing everything off. But this girl seemed genuine, as well as mysterious. Like she was hiding screams under a silk-binding. His observations drew himself closer so his face was rested in-front of hers.
The irises were nice, he noted. Usually he had seen eyes were the pupil devoured the color, and made them less-human. But she was all there and colorful at that. "You should get new job that works with the Imperial family directly, this work isn't good for you," his voice was weaved with concern, although sorrow could be hinted. Did he really care?

Sorano recoiled a little, shaken out of her thoughts by Kyo's sudden movements. She watched, perplexed, as he took hold of her hand. Leering she was used to, but he wasn't doing that. It was more thoughtful, and not really as aggravating as the calculating stares she'd had before. Just...eerie.
She leaned back a little when he came forward, still quite unsure what to make of the guy. When he spoke, she had to take a second to register what had been said. "Hahh? I..well, I didn't really have a say on where to work...And, and..I'm sorry?" Oh, wow, how pathetic was that. She bit her lip; it was like she did something wrong, but she had no idea what.

"You...don't? Why is that?" Kyo asked, his hand still motionless. He noticed the girl leaned back, like the closeness had bothered her. She must have gotten a lot of it, he figured. Feeling still a little light headed, he leaned back to give her space. He wasn't sure of the boundaries that should have been kept, but until she verbally requested him to go away - he would stay put.
