"I'm just..a girl," she answered fuitily, shrugging her shoulders. It was a terrible answer, but it was true. "There's not much I'm allowed to decide." Frustrating as it was, the concept was always there, so she was adjusted to it well enough. She eased a little when he leaned back, pretty sure that she shouldn't have to keep such a careful eye on him.
"But, you," she brought up quickly, "are you feeling better? I mean, do you need me to get you anything?"

The girl's words stuck on him, and his expression seemed curious. She was just a girl, and usually it was the mother or family who forced the decisions onto her.. but if there was another opportunity around, perhaps she could gain freedom while being paid. Or something spectacular, never had he tried to make anyone happy after a certain event. At last he started to shake the girl's hand to catch her attention, "you could always work for me!"

"H-hahhh?" Sorano's mouth twitched a bit as her hand was shaken. "But..you work for Kisho-san, which would mean I'm still stuck here..and what am I supposed to do for you, exactly, if I did, anyway?"
This conversation was getting a little fishy. Or. Fishier. It was getting harder for Sorano to keep track, and her very reason for being there seemed lost. But somehow, it beat washing clothes.

"I not only work for him, you see," Kyo didn't know how to explain it, and he shook his head. "But whatever you do here, can be done anywhere. Whether you really did anything at all. Plus, don't you want to be free?" He asked, picking up the girl's hand so it was mid-center of the two. "Hey, if you want to work with Akiyama - that's fine with me.."

"Are you ki--" she stopped herself quickly; way too loud--not a good idea to be speaking of such things in a place like this. In a quieter tone, Sorano reiterated.
"Are you kidding me? I am losing my mind here, and nothing would make me happier than to get up and leave. But I can't--it's hard to get out of here without really good excuses. They would harrass my parents if I disappeared, and I--"
Stopping again, she pressed her lips together, shaking her head. She was talking too fast, rambling. She exhaled heavily, tilting her head and staring hard into the eyes of the other.
"Why are you saying these things to me?"

Kyo stared up a little in thought, eyeing the ceiling. He wasn't sure why he was making such an offer, until he figured that it was because he had just hallucinated having company around. "Maybe I stepped in on something today, but Akiyama's intentions are always a little off. Perhaps someone could call it selfish that perhaps someone like you would be around.. ah-hah, maybe I can fix something I lost a long time ago." When he was done speaking, his eyes lowered and he gave a slanted-smile.
"I can talk to your parents, and with the new household and funding I doubt they'd complain that you're working else where.." he was very influential with business, after all.

"A little is being too courteous, but..but--but what, are you just trying to be funny? I mean. I don't know. It just--Nrrgh, just, just hang on." Sorano felt like she was making a total fool of herself, so she straightened up and took a deep breath, pushing back all the outraged commentary harping her in her head.
"Let me get this straight. You are saying that you are capable of getting me out of here with no trouble at all, right? I don't know why you want to, but if you're going to go to the trouble, far be it from me to say no. But I'd owe you a lot---what where you anticipating as payment?"
The last part was the part that she was most worried about, and if it seemed too sour she'd have to give up on this whole notion--that I can't believe I am thinking of agreeing to, good grief!

"The payment would be that you're working for me," Kyo gave the girl a confused look. That was the point? Payment for a payment? Something like that. Although he squeezed her hand he his eyes grimaced to the girl's hair. "My home has been empty for quite some time, and I am afraid I am losing myself without another presence.. anything would help, and if you hated working for him you can just get a different job, too." He didn't like admitting that he had faults, let along was he ever this straight-forward. But he wanted to get it all out before he lost himself again.

Sorano turned her head and glanced aside, pressing her lips together as she deliberated. On the one hand, she could stay, and put up with day after day of the leering and single-minded demands that pretty much came with the job. On the other hand...she had no idea what to expect on the other hand, but she had a feeling it was a lot better than the way things were. Anything to get out of here.
She looked back at Kyo and slowly smiled, giving his hand a bit of a squeeze in return, as agreement. "I'll do what I can for you, sir, if you can get me away from here for good."
Mother will love this, she thought with an inner laugh. Quitting work at the castle to work for a young stranger whose name I don't even know.

Kyo felt the squeeze of his hand, and he gave the girl a bright grin. He had never been excited before, but now he was looking forward to actually doing things. How many times had he tried to get rid of the emptiness of his house by trashing the walls with odd ornaments.. way too many. "You'll like your new room," he mused over it. Not because it was anything special but he recalled Akane adoring it for herself, a large space and it was keenly decorated for a woman's taste. Plus, he hadn't touched the room and left if the way was before she 'left'. "..and the kimonos," he seemed to say, now remembering them.

"Oh, I.." she stopped; he looked a lot better now. Hopefully this whole agreement wasn't caused by the concussion. At least he was in a good mood. She smiled a bit, withdrawing her hand for the first time in what seemed like ages, setting it back down in her lap.
"The only thing left, really," she said between his musings, "is your name. What is it?"

"Kyokutei Ieyasu," he said quietly, although he chipped in, "although I prefer to be called Kyo." He was too excited to notice the girl's hand had left his hold; instead he sat up a little more - actually sitting across from Sorano instead of leaning into her personal space. "The house will be yours just as it is mine, I just want to make that clear," he nodded his head, not minding if he didn't know the girl personally.

"Oh, I, haa--I don't mean to claim so much of what's yours, really; I'm sure whatever you give me will be fine." Sure was an exciteable sort. At least it wasn't going to be boring, by any account...
She glanced aside at the door, as if realizing where she was for the first time. "Oh--I have to go and...well, you know. It's not like I've quiet yet. But..thank you." She bowed her head to hide her smile. "Thank you. I better get going with--the stuff and..Don't move around too much, you still need to take it easy..Alright, bye." She said all that as she was gradually getting up and heading out, pretty much ready to run out of the nearest door and away from the wretched castle. For good, at last!
Things were finally starting to look up. What's another day's worth of laundry to a bit of freedom, anyway?
