"Writers," Sorano echoed, looking up thoughtfully for a moment. "I think that's perfectly fine." She figured it wouldn't hurt to brush up on her penmanship before then..just to be safe.
Her expression dramtically shifted when he mentioned both 'wife' and 'daughter'. Her ears got a little redder than normal. "Ehhh? W-well..."
Fortunately, the subject changed quickly. She sighed a bit, glad for it. "Well," she said lightly, her hands lifting with her shrug, "I'm working for you--it's only natural that I'd call you sir. It's a respect thing, I guess."
It was also force of habit; she always got extra work for forgetting to address people as 'sir' or 'ma'am', even so recently as 16, since half the time she was zoning out while working. ...Okay, so I have a LOT to work on. I'll get it, I'll get it!

"Well, people there will get suspicious if you start calling me sir, you know?" He tried to explain to the girl that people out there were very simple, and did everything in a routine. Kyo figured she was raised always a step under someone, to keep the word 'sir' around. Looking down at the scrolls he suddenly left to toss them into his room before heading back, eyes glowing. "Thank you, for coming with."

"Oh, okay; I'll stop, then. No problem!" It took Sora more effort to remember using 'sir' than not using it at all, so it was one less thing to worry about, and it made the move all the more exciting.
When he stopped to thank her, she smiled meekly and waved her hand dismissively. "It's no big deal, si--Kyo. I actually used to daydream about something like this happening--the disappearing to new places, with new identities thing...Just..not really because of some crazed ruler." She laughed at how stupid she sounded and shook her head, kneeling down to fold up her own belongings, if only because she wanted everything to be all set, even if she had no clue when they'd be going.

Watching her caused his head to crane to the side to get a better look at her movements. To get ready and move, to change, was something she had wanted. At least he could do something for her, as a better change. "I never asked.." Kyo said. But before he could finish his statement he moved away to come back with a quill and a new scroll, "..about your life. Do you mind telling me, while I write this list?"

Sorano squinted up from her work, thinking, then giving Kyo a dubious look. "There's not really anything interesting to say, haha...My father is a tailor, and my mother helps. I had an older sister, but she got sick, so you know..Gotta make sure the other daughter doesn't get sick! So they made me stay inside all the time. It was really boring. Then I had to start working when Father had money problems and..then after a while I ended up in the castle."
She shrugged and shook her head, smiling. "Nothing really exciting to report, I'm afraid! This'll probably be the most adventure I'll ever have...so I can't say I'm not excited. But I'll try to take it seriously, so I don't cause any more trouble for you."

"You're no trouble at all," said Kyo as he started to scratch some names into the scroll. Most of them were well known Generals with the Imperial walls and highly trusted by Akiyama. Of course, he even placed his own name within the scrolls but made sure the strokes in the symbols were a tad be averted - like it wasn't his own writing. And on the side he wrote some personal notes about why and how the person was a traitor to the shogunate's position.
"And your family now, they're doing well?"

Sorano tied up her bundle of clothes--she didn't have a whole lot, nor did she seem to need much. She shoved the pile against the wall as she sat back off her feet, stretching her arms some.
"Now?" she repeated, then laughed a little. "If I ever see my mother again, I think she'll kill me, then lock me in my room, then kill me again. But I'm sure they're fine. They just work a lot more, since everyone seems to be struggling with money...They'll be alright."
She smiled kind of absent-mindedly, thinking about it. Yeah, Mother's too frugal to let Father do anything stupid with money..They don't need my help that bad. It'll be okay.
Blinking, she snapped back to attention, looking up at Kyo. "You know when we're gonna go?"

In his position he crossed one ankle over another, tempted to put Akiyama's own name on there but that didn't seem realistic enough. Whenever he brought up the topic of her family, she always had a question that didn't fit to it. He figured she didn't like discussing it and would soon forget it. "Well it doesn't take long to really receive urgent lists of names with traitors, so we're probably better off heading out the day after tomorrow."
Glancing up from the scroll he locked eyes with the girl. "Unless you want me to wait, but he said specifically - two days.."

"Two days is fine," she said lightheartedly, unclipping the blue and gold barret from her hair and shaking her head a bit to let her hair even itself out on both sides. It didn't really seem too uncomfortable to be so natural around Kyo, which in of itself was a bit uncomfortable. But still, she didn't think too much of high formality around him, since he didn't seem to advocate it.
She combed her fingers through her previously-pinned hair with a thoughtful expression. She ought to go see her grandmother about more needles..maybe she could start practicing again. If it could be of any help to Kyo, or just for defense, it was good, right?
"I guess leaving will be good for both of us, huh?" she said almost dreamily, leaning against the wall as she twisted some hair around her fingers idly, staring off. "No more ghosts of the past to bug us."

"Yeah, it'll be nice," he said, although his voice seemed to drift within it. Never had he imagined a real escape from his past, but perhaps it was possible. Watching Sorano's movements caused a smile to light up on his face, glad to see an interaction worth watching - one that wasn't really useless or intimidating. Not even violent. Glancing down he finally wrote down the last name on the scroll. In all there were over 100, and instead of his usual separate scrolls for 50 he had smashed them all onto one so Akiyama would be confused as to who even wrote it up.

"If you're somehow still there when he reads that list, youhave to tell me what his expression looks like, okay?" She said with a bit of a giggle as she began to refasten her barret into her hair. It may be potentially suicidal, but she had to admit, the whole idea was exciting.

"Oh, I will," Kyo said with much enthusiasm. He would love to see Akiyama's furious face .. although perhaps he wouldn't want to see it either. Oh well. "I'll make sure he gets it tomorrow, for sure."
