Sorano got away from that particular situation with Akiyama safely enough, thankfully. She'd had plenty of time during her walk home to berate herself for being so...ridiculously brash. It was embarrassing. Oh well. At least no one else had seen it; no one else needs to know. Not even Kyo, who would probably mark her off on that ever-growing list of Akiyama's nay-sayers that he'd been working on.
She entered the house and squinted, still not accustomed to the intense...red of the walls. She never said anything about it to him, since she didn't want to offend, and it didn't really bother her too much after she'd been inside for long. It was just that initial entrance that made it so odd.
"I'm..home," she called, half-loud, half-quiet. She didn't know if she was even there, or if he was asleep, or what. It was still weird to say that here. She slipped her sandals off at the door, sliding it behind her while stuffing her bought items under an arm as she walked inside.

Kyo was used to Sorano coming and going as she pleased, he did give her that right after all. He was in his room at the time she entered, with the door opened. Two scrolls were laid open, one filled with scratched writing while the second one had one name. It was the list Akiyama request. Hearing Sorano's voice he slowly stood up while rolling the scrolls closed. Kyo stepped out of his room and stopped just at the corner to look over and out at the girl.
"Welcome home," he said, each passing day he had seemed to tone down and become more 'normal' - or at least the person would adapt to the oddity. Stepping out fully he moved closer to watch the girl's eyes. The scrolls still tucked neatly in his left hand. "Anything exciting happen today?" Kyo asked, his blue eyes glinting with curiosity. It was though he knew Sorano had ran into Akiyama.

"E-ehh?"
Sorano blinked, leaning back a bit and smiling awkwardly, clutching at the bundle in her arms. "Ah..I..saw a fight."
...Gah.
She always felt terrible trying to lie to Kyo; something about him made her want to be consistently honest, even..even though he might kill her for whatever it was she was being honest about.
The instant she gave her half-assed reply, she bustled past him to the room she was assigned, setting her stuff down--more like practically dropping it all over the floor. She muttered a bit inaudibly as she started to pick it up and reorganize it.

For a moment he froze in place and just stared at the space Sorano was standing. He knew there were many fights going on with so many conflicted opinions about the war. Slowly, he turned and followed Sorano to her room. Although he didn't step in he stayed outside the door and watched her fumble with the scattered items. "As long as you're not hurt, that's all that matters," Kyo said quietly, wanting Sorano to know that he was concerned but if she didn't want to talk about it she didn't have to.

Sorano sat up from what she was doing, setting her hands in her lap. She wasn't facing him, but she had a hunch as to what his expression was, and she almost flinched at his words. She wanted to say something about it, if only so she didn't have to keep mulling the event over in her head all alone. So after a very brief moment of hesitation, she turned her head to look up at him, biting her lip for a second.
"Would you be mad at me if I said that your boss was involved?" she asked quickly, and kind of quietly at the end.

By the way Sorano was sitting with her back facing him, he figured it was something that bothered her dearly. Kyo left the silence alone, until the girl turned and looked at him. Boss? As in Akiyama? "No," he said, "I wouldn't be mad." Sorano seemed in distressed and he wanted to step in and comfort her and as well get information to the fight. However, he would not intrude on her personal space - just like he promised. "He didn't try to hurt you, did he?"

She shook her head quickly, looking away again. "I didn't give him the chance," she said. "I just...kinda took a shot at him and ran...I hope that girl's okay. I think it was a girl.."
Catching herself rambling, she got up and turned around, waving her hands dismissively and smiling a bit. "Ah--no, I mean, it's okay. Sorry to worry you, sir." She bowed her head a bit, feeling embarrassed.

His eyes narrowed and the grasp on the scrolls tightened in slight frustration. No, he was not angry at Sorano. Instead, he was wondering how corrupted things would get under Akiyama's control. And the supposed girl that was attacked? Well, he did know Akiyama had a sick fantasy with women so perhaps he was engaging in that. "Did he see you?" he asked, the anger present in his features was not present in his voice.

Sorano took a second to glance up at Kyo, then flinched a little at his expression, immediately returning her gaze back to the floor. Her hand went her face and she chewed on her thumb nail a bit, nodding very vaguely and said, "Mmn."
StupidstupidSTUPID girl, a voice in her head shrieked. She didn't really need that much to make her feel bad, but it was a nice touch.
"I got a little ahead of myself," she said quietly, turning a bit. "He was saying all these horrible things to that girl, and I got really mad at him; everything he does makes me mad."

Slowly his expression became blank and his eyes grew onto a hook of not only concern but fear. He was not a person to value his own life or lives of others but for some reason Sorano was the last momentum of hope. And now that Akiyama had seen her she would have to be one of the people written down on his lists. "You.." he started off, reluctant to really say it, "are in danger."

"No I'm not," she said, folding her arms and pacing a bit, as if saying it to convince herself and Kyo. "He's said it a thousand times; I'm insignificant. He said it to me, he said such things to that girl, no doubt a ton others. If I believed in such things, I'd say he was some sort of demon brought on earth to torment people."
She stopped and looked at him with a pained expression. "I wish you didn't work for him," she said, as though it were difficult to say. And it was. "He's evil."

"Is that so?" he asked Sorano when she said she was not in danger. Even if Akiyama pinned her as being insignificant she was still the one to take up space with information. And worse of all, she had a history of working with him, too. However, he had tormented people as well as killed them so he couldn't decipher the real evil in it. But there was a time before he wasn't like that and knew things about love.
Sorano's expression caught him off guard and he had the urge to step back and away from the conversation. Never had fear tightened him this badly before. "You don't want me to work for him?"

"I...no, I don't," she said, more assertively, but still with a timid pitch in her voice. She glanced around nervously as she tried to find a way to explain herself. "What he's doing...It's not right. I mean..everyone does bad things..but he's doing horrible things, almost not caring what happens to anyone else. Just so long as he ends up on top. It's cruel.
"You're not," she added quickly, wringing her shaking hands as she spoke quickly, head down. "I mean, you probably do bad things, too..but you're..not like him. And I think he's going to just take advantage of your skills and make you do something you don't want to do..y-y'know?"
She quickly glanced up at him, then back down, turning around and running her fingers through her hair; she was awfully worked up about it, and she wasn't completely sure she knew why.

Kyo's left hand lifted and he slowly placed his forehead into his opened palm. He wasn't sure whether or not Sorano was concerned about his well being or if it was her hatred for Akiyama. Whatever it was, he wasn't sure how to go about this. He wasn't evil? His attention shifted from the ground and back to the girl, his eyes wide with confusion.
"I don't hurt you, at least.. I don't believe I do. Is it possible, to save everyone from that type of evil?" he asked Sorano. All he seemed to be doing was questioning the girl ever since she stepped in. Like he had wanted to get to know her from the inside out. "I.. don't know anymore, not really, but if you don't want me to. I guess.. " he breathed. "I guess I could do something else."

"I don't know if you can save everyone," Sorano admitted sheepishly, dropping her hands and turning halfway to look at him, "but I think we all have an obligation to at least try. And I don't want him to hurt you--or anyone."
She blinked, then held up her hands, shaking them a bit. "Ah-B-but I'm not trying to tell you what to do or anything! I mean, I just..it's just what I think. I worked for him and his people for a year or so...there's a lot of terrible things going on...I just didn't want you to get sucked into it all."
She also didn't want him to have to cut her throat for even thinking wrongly of Kisho--since it was he job to keep track of it.
