The sun was about to set and Kyo was on his way to pick up some 'needless materials' to bring back home. Well, they weren't really needless because he needed them. Rather it was an obsession that drew him out from his home. His eyes glowed with excitement while he passed the people in the bustling streets of the markets. There was so many victims - people, yeah people - here in the market. One, two, three four - Kyo was counting the number of heads he passed, finding out whenever he did that his trip to his destination would go faster. Once he reached the stand he was looking for, his hand immediately grabbed for the object on the table.
"You kept it, nice .. yes very nice," he said to the salesman behind the stand. It was a pocket knife shipped from over seas, it was small and tacky but the blade - whenever it popped out - was rather sharp and nice. With his free hand he pulled out the proper currency and placed it on the stand. "Parentless sparrow," Kyo said to himself as he left the table to head off towards one of the entertainment houses. He liked those calm places considering he sat at the furthest table and let his mind scrabbled over the chaos he could cause. No one knew his name; he had many around the Market. Some names he had stolen off of his last victim. But he liked Kyo the best, sounded legendary and poetic.
He was busy musing with the possibilities, so very many and it seemed like he had so little time. Whenever he fought he reduced his life-span by a year. Such a shame it was but it couldn't be helped.

"Thank you for another good day," Seyfi called to one of his workers as he was headed for home. Finally, end of the day...He reached over a shelf to grab a long cloth to cover up the delicate items on display. It kept dust from settling on them in the evening--not that it mattered; days were dusty enough..It was the thought that counts, anyway. He set the cloth on the side of the shelf where he'd remember to grab it.
Walking across the floor to the other table, Seyfi picked up a list of items he'd had handy, along with a quill--he never could get the hang of the brushes used around here to write. Ticking off the sold items as he surveyed the shelves and tables, he sighed a bit.
"Less and less each day," he said to himself. "Perhaps it would be smart to strike a deal with the spice vendor down the road...Salt sells better than Egyptian cotton..."
List and quill in hand, he sauntered back outside and glanced at the dwindling number of people. Nobody seemed to be too thrilled to be out shopping these days, either. Oi vey--he hoped that his suppliers could come up with something more practical to ship in next time around.

Kyo was immensely submerged into his thoughts, eyes slightly glazing from the feelings he was having. The up and downs to the insecure highs. Sometimes he could be found laughing for no apparent reason, like a funny joke had been said. No one else got the joke of silence, how could they not laugh when the opportunity came by? But because of his careless withdrawal into his daydreams he had suddenly stopped in front of a single person. Suddenly the lids of his eyes blinked and his gaze settled on the person, Seyfi to be exact.
He stared for the longest time; so long it could be labeled as 'rude'. The newly bought knife was in his palm, fingers curled around it as his head craned to the right. Kyo was eyeing Seyfi, the darker flesh and the unique eyes. Wanting to recoil from the very sight because it reminded him of his own appearance, his face which he avoided from the steel that reflected in the blades. A very mirror that could wisp his soul into a new millennia. It frightened him and he started to fidget with the object in his hand.
"Wow," he said out loud with awe ringing in his voice. Taking a step closer to the unidentified, Kyo smiled and widely at that. The influence echoed severely in his head.

No sooner had he stepped outside than Seyfi found himself standing under the, well, unnerving gaze of a rather unusual fellow. Politely, Seyfi averted his glance the other way, but the longer this went on, the more uncomfortable it became, until he ended up looking right back at him. How long is he going to--
"Er," Seyfi leaned back a bit as the stranger approached and spoke. He himself took a step backwards when he saw the little knife.
Regardless, it was only common courtesy to say something in such a situation...Clearing his throat a bit and trying to throw on a bit of a smile, he managed to say, "...Can I help you..sir?"

The influence of new faces, his thought finally came to an end when the other asked if he needed help. What would he possibly need help with? Did he look handicapped or disabled to walk forward by his lonesome? This thought Kyo into a panic state and his eyes curved widely and his mouth throttled into a frown. And then the fear broke and left him empty, the arm that occupied nothing suddenly slithered over Seyfi's shoulders. The other man was a tad bit taller, an inch to be exact.
He seemed untamed and out of control, like a fierce beast that was finally out of the cage. Nothing could hold him down or prevent him from bombarding the poor fellow with questions. "I have yet to see a face like you....tell me about yourself," his voice was filled with anticipation, he wanted to know everything about this being and now.

"I--dhh--" Seyfi stiffened a bit at the contact, definitely not normal for these parts. The nature of the younger fellow's expression kind of worried him; it was hard to think of what to say...What if he upset him in some way? Lord in Heaven...
"A-about myself?" he repeated, a bit lost. "Er..well..."
I am having no idea what is happening, for one.
"Well..I..What did you want to know, particularly? Ehh..about the shop, or..where I'm from, or..?"
No idea. At all. Lord, why are you doing this to me? Have I not been good?

"All of it," mused the boy while letting his arm move down to the other's torso so that he could encircle the foreigner. Then he suddenly ducked beneath Seyfi's arm. Kyo was standing in front of the other, an arm-span away. He had moved so fast he didn't even give time for Seyfi to react because he pulled out his sheathed blade and tapped the other on the head with the opposite side of the scabbard. "I...won't hurt you. Will I? No of course not, you've been so friendly," his voice almost sounded sad, to the point of breaking. Until he dropped the blade in its scabbard to the ground.
"So you own this shop," his eyes slanted to the right-side to gaze at the shop he didn't even notice until now. Kyo wasn't all that observant, but when he became observant it would be threatening. A smile lifted on his mouth and his eyes straightened back at the stranger. "And what type of name do you have?"

A shiver of what could either be utter confusion or absolute dread went down Seyfi's spine almost the exact time that arm did. Before he could even sputter out some form of response, the boy had moved. Again. It was, to say the least, disorienting. Seyfi's lower left eyelid twitched for a couple seconds, perhaps out of sheer bewilderment. The fellow's conversation wasn't very..linear.
"I..yes.." he replied, scratching the bridge of his nose. "It's--oh. Name?" Honestly, Lord; is this divine punishment for something I did in my sleep? ...Grin and bear it. Grin and bear it. "It's Seyfi...May I ask for yours?"

"Kyo," he said softly while contemplating the names he could give out. Kyo would do just fine, if Seyfi came from another world the name Kyo would stick on anyone. It was short and easy to remember with the two syllables. His frantic posture suddenly calmed magnificently, soon his lids dropped in a peaceful way and his smile was wiped off his face. Once the lids of his eyes lifted back up, the irises gleamed with malice and he took a step forward while making sure to not step on his blade. "I wanted to know, is this your birth-place? If it's not, what brought you here?"
Kyo wanted to find the reasoning for anyone coming to Japan. Secretly he had wanted to travel the earth in search of someone with the same physical features as his own, but he never saw anything like his own in Japan. Different, it appeased him.

At least this 'Kyo' could carry on conversation, that was a relief. Seyfi sighed a bit, trying to ease his nerves. Inquisitive fellow, wasn't he? Strange that such curiosity would spring up so suddenly after meeting another with almost as much as this one. When it rains, it pours.
He smiled awkwardly as he was questioned, feeling a bit more out of place than ever, especially standing outside like they were. As potentially dangerous a risk to the more breakable goods held inside as it was, Seyfi was willing to give the boy the benefit of the doubt. Though he still did eye the blade on the ground for a moment--refusing to let his memories get the best of him, he decided there was nothing for it, and answered as honestly, coridally, and with as much control of the accent he could muster.
"Ah..no, I was not born here. I came here to exchange goods from here and other countries, like my own..with the items for trade in this country.."

The back of his feet were aligned with the scabbard of the blade before his left foot went back to step on the end, slowly the blade lifted and Kyo grasped the handle of the katana into his free-hand. Carefully he slipped the smaller knife away, who knew how many blades he carried within his sleeves. But that was nobody's business, really. "Does your shop carry knives from other countries?" if Seyfi said yes, he would have to come back in the morning to do business with the foreigner. If not, he would continue going to the same guy he always did.
"Do you have family, or were they all killed by a blade or perhaps burned in a great fire?" when he spoke his expression became cryptic. Talking about Death could bring anyone to the lower depths of their heart, where pain resided.

"I..ehhh..." he watched, head slightly tilted, at the unusual retrieval of blades. Upon the inquiry of weapons, Seyfi averted his glance to the side, clasping his hands together to relieve them of their awkward position at his sides.
"I..do have a few," he replied slowly, "but I do not keep them sharp." Nor on display for such eccentric characters, a voice in the back of his head added.
The sudden inquiry about his family brought Seyfi's glance back over to Kyo, slightly surprised at the sudden mention. "No...Most of my family is well and fine..No great disasters I have gotten word of. Why do you ask?"

"It's the design, not how sharp it is," he spoke up about the blades, thumbing the handle of the katana. Now if he started to ask about the location of his family that would give suspicion that he was the one that was going to kill them by a blade or burn their home down. No, the question would be because he wanted to know if they were in another country or residentially in Japan. Yet he didn't mention it, not wanting to deal with the fuss and accusations.
"Families have ties to the heart and our parents faces show up in our future actions," he had that crazy little theory when he figured his real parents faces showed up in his slightly insane actions. Perhaps he strived on revenge way too much. Lifting the blade up he reached his other hand over to slowly lift the katana from the scabbard, eyes flickering slightly.

Seyfi blinked, and kind of stared for a minute, registering this. He squinted. "I...could see that making sense," he said after a moment, nodding a bit. It did make sense, come to think of it--sense, at last!
"I am assuming you are looking for a new weapon of sorts?" he asked, almost reluctantly. Was it really a good idea to give this fellow another sharp object? Besides..Every weapon Seyfi ever received from his suppliers never ended up on his shelves, and he oftentimes lied about even having any in stock. This was an exception, of course; Kyo looked a little more than dangerous, to say the least, and the last thing Seyfi wanted was unneccessary hostility. So he figured it was best to give the boy an honest response and see if he'd still be alive in the morning.

"I collect them and in return they collect dust, the design could be separated into four arts," to make an emphasis he let go of the handle of the katana so it slid back into the scabbard - he was now holding four fingers up. Curling them back down into their normal positions he turned to stand at Seyfi's side. Without warning he hooked his arm with Seyfi's left arm, eyes narrowing down. "What is the list for?"
