Hearing Seyfi's worlds lifted his inward thoughts up. His head finally lifted from his palm, only to allow his fingers to glide through the light strands of hair. Of course the pieces fell back into place. Although his blue eyes seemed the more lively. "You're admirable and strong, dear one. I've done nothing for anyone else. Really, there is no good in me."

"I do not think that is true," Seyfi remarked with a bit of a smile. "There is good in all things; whether you can see it or not is a different thing."
He leaned back a little, looking past Kyo at the tapestry on the wall as he tried to think of a way to explain what he was thinking. "There is bad...but it weaves together with the good. They bring each other out, I suppose."
"Besides," he added, with a slight grin, "I have not heard of wicked men admiring art so much."

Kyo could not hold back from laughing at Seyfi's last statement. His laugh was soft and vibrant, though near to the end it followed out into a dead tone. A complete silence. His eyes averted to the right in thought and his hands rested on the table. "You see," he said while letting his eyes rest on Seyfi, "art is a killer."

"In what way is that?" Seyfi asked, tilting his head a bit.

"I'll show you," said Kyo finally, moving himself up from his kneeling position. It only took one second for him to get on his feet, and with a single gesture his katana was pulled out of the scabbard. "First I'll need paint, yeah?" he asked with a certain hunger, while he set the tip of the blade on the top of table. "Would you happy to oblige?" He leaned down so his chest was near to hand that held to the blade, "or do I have to do it by force?"

"Gh--" Seyfi leaned back stiffly, staring down at the blade. The suddenness of Kyo's movement surprised him, and once again there was that feeling of dread. The unpredictable nature of the boy gave Seyfi very little hope that anything he could do would be at all helpful.
"You only work in one color," he remarked in a level voice, though his eyes were wide and alert, watching the boy's face.

"One color, but I see it as many colors, you know? Because the outside can be brown, black and white. Though inside we're all just the same meaningless color. Red. Like fire almost, I could really show you how," he seemed to be excited by this. How many days has it been since he lasted painted a red sky brimming from the sun set? What about the hours since he last knew tears, crystal clear for the white of the snow's frost. Even if his voice pulled at the very topic with amusement, the blue eyes were empty and sad.
"Can you make art with that theory?" he asked.

"You are speaking as though all there is..is the flesh," he said slowly, still bristling. "The satisfaction of seeing such things..it is only limited to the moment it happens. Is that why you do it over and over?"
His eyebrows furrowed a bit with aggravation, but his voice kept level. "There is no satisfaction in the destruction of men, other than that brief moment therein. It is not art; it is just a lost person seeking purpose."

With respect he stepped around the table, instead of on it like he wanted to. As a guest he wouldn't do that much. He acted like a snake with Seyfi, now placing the edge of the Katana on the other's left shoulder. Resting it there, not pushing down to break cloth or flesh. "Sometimes, there is blue," Kyo said in defense, "even purple." Kyo detected the sudden aggravation and offense. The opposing force and he loved it. "You can't tell me there is a seeking for and of purpose when you can ask an artist what the purpose of art is. And he'll tell ya. 'To express myself' and in anyways that artist is allowed to show what he wants. Are you to tell me that life is not an art?"

"Life, perhaps, but not the loss of it. Unless burning paintings is artistic."
Seyfi did not move at all, rather just following Kyo with his eyes. Scared? Of course. But he was more annoyed than scared at how disallusioned the boy was. His hands were clenched in fists, resting on the table.
"No doubt whatever I would be saying would fly through that empty head of yours, so you will just go on killing to try and fill up that empty, miserable life you've sculpted for yourself, sir artist."

Slowly the blade moved away from Seyfi and Kyo lowered himself into a kneeling position. His right hand suddenly reached out and folded around Seyfi's left-fisted hand. Kyo's flesh had a chill to it due to the lack of circulation. At his position his face was not in view of Seyfi's gaze until he turned his chin and the lower lids of his eyes took on moisture from tears. None of them fell from onto his cheek, but instead they just settled there. Apparently he had taken all of Seyfi's fear - at least the fear he wanted - and took it for his own, selfishly.
"An empty canvas, so I've really done nothing."

"I think you are using the wrong kind of canvas, Kyo," Seyfi said darkly, turning his head down to glance at his hand. That annoyed him, too; it was as if he was being patronized for some reason.
"You are a very selfish person."

Because of the dark response, he removed his hand and turned his head to look at Seyfi directly. He was up in the other man's face, and as he blinked the tears were no longer present. Actually, it seemed like no emotion was there at all. "I'm aware I am selfish, and I even admitted it earlier. I've done nothing for anyone, but still you tried to make a sense in good because that's what everyone wants to believe," he almost wanted to sneer at Seyfi, but his mind was racing quicker than his heart. "Ahah, seems like I will venture to find a new canvas then. Not by my desire, either. Deus," he smiled.

"Then leave," he replied softly, looking back at him, slightly pained. "Nothing you have said leads me to believe that you are evil, whether that happens to interest you or not."
He shook his head a little, rubbing his forehead. Sighing, he said, "Keep the book. It looked like you enjoyed it. If there was nothing else I could do for you, at least that is something, yes?"
Seyfi had a feeling he'd be bothered by this whole experience for a while. Oi vey.

"Maybe if it helps in the prospect that my hands are innocent, never once has my hands killed someone. Though I was still the one behind the blade," he wasn't sure why he had to say this, perhaps for closure on the topic in general. "I don't talk of another canvas by person; instead it'll be out of what good-natured people want. Honest work. Deus, I will do this for you since you have treated me nicely and with normality when I am anything but those two, it takes a lot of patience," Kyo knew of every defect, how couldn't he? Allowing himself to sit back from the other, his eyes landed on the book that rested on the table.
"You've done more for me than what I could have ever done for myself in a year," he said admittedly.
