"Four ar--ehh.." he simply dropped his question, pretty sure he wasn't going to get a clarifying response. But what he did assume--collecting dust--was that he wasn't the kind to utilize a weapon to its utmost potential, which, if it was true, was a great relief to him.
By now, the oddity that was Kyo, what with all the moving around, strange questions, and sudden physical contact, was starting to become less intimidating and more...well. Tolerable? Slightly agitating, but..tolerable. With that revelation at hand, the also-too-sudden locking of arms was not as frightening as to be expected. Instead, Seyfi just regarded the question, rather than the actions---it seemed a wiser use of time.
"I am checking the items in stock," he said, glancing down at it as well, in all it's scribbled, smeared, Hebrew..uh. Glory. "Also making sure nothing is missing that wasn't paid for...Is just a boring part of selling."

Kyo bent forward to look at the list; yes he could read none of it. The scribbles were different compared to the normal Kanji structure. If someone knew of art they would know the difficulties of each stroke, Hebrew seemed to be worse. Picking himself up in the normal stance, arms still locked, he sighed. "So, then you understand the clause of the producer and seller? If I ask you nicely would you be willing to sell me your soul?"
He mused with the very request, repeating his own words with his lips but this time it was not audible. Quietly he rested the side of his head on the hitch of the other's shoulder, waiting for an answer. The other people in the market area only glanced and went back to their meaningless lives.

Seyfi slowly turned his stare down at the boy, eyebrows raised. He was going to think that question over, because it sounded serious enough. But. ...He squinted a bit. Eye twitched again.
Whaaaaaaaat?! shrieked a voice in the back of his head; it reminded him of his mother, screaming at his father's ineptitude. Wait. What? What? What is--This boy is spreading crazy.
Still, with infinite patience..."I'm afraid there are some things that are worth more than money...So I couldn't sell you something like that."
He sighed a bit, exasperated, rolling his eyes up to the sky. God, he thought, you are owing me a lot for this. The only blessing within this is that no one I know is around to laugh at me.

"And you know in desperation of the buyer's needs he would go out of his way to reprieve that very object from the seller. It's a theft within everyone's ambitions, carrying a wave of bloodshed. Now, a blade is utensil of art - it could grasp your very soul and withdraw it from the shell of your body. The red would be proof," now he was rambling about the things that could be played out. His head lifted from Seyfi's shoulder and he stepped forward while letting his arm unravel from the other's but before he was completely out of contact with the man, his hand rested on Seyfi's forearm. Kyo's head turned and he flashed the other a mischievous smile.
"Not even the Holy Water could wash your memory away from the incident, and what would you do then? Soul shackled in the chains of a blade, what would you do.." his words trailed off and at last he let his hand fall back to his side.

Now it was getting unsettling; despite the quick pace of Kyo's speech, he seemed to articulate in such a way that he seemed to know what he was going on about. It bothered Seyfi, enough to withdraw his arm from contact and all but crumple the parchment and quill in his other hand.
"Why do you say such things?" he said, turning halfway; he didn't want to look or listen to him, but putting such a person out of sight seemed outright foolish. Especially with such talk. Was he allusioning to murder? Sure sounded that way.

As though it was a player of harmony he had struck a wrong note and felt the other's insecurity. The rhythm of the darkness was singing in invariably darkness that only wished for light. Seyfi must've been a dreamer if he couldn't catch onto the art of Death and bloodshed. He must've been one of those people that wished we would wake up and all love endlessly, undyingly and forever. Even after. Letting his head rest back to look up to the sky, noticing it was getting dark.
"Sometimes," he started off as his head went back down and he faced the other once again, "we see it as honor to keep our life and if we dishonor that life - to save its soul, we must die. Not everyone is lucky to speak with reason, I know, I feel .. it hurts to speak the truth. No one wants to accept it." Kyo didn't appreciate the way the other turned away in disgust, perhaps. Or it was something else? All he knew was that he was up in tow with Seyfi's movements, his arms now around the foreigner in a chaste hug.
"Now, it's awkward to love as so much as it is awkward to hate. Sometimes it takes suffocation to begin again," he didn't let go, being as he wasn't done speaking. "It's Faith of humanity, no matter what type of face you have."

Seyfi wobbled a little upon receiving the unexpected hug, looking down at the marvel of a boy as he spoke as if he were triple his age. It was eerie, troubling, and a little more than dizzying. Why was Kyo even talking to him?
"I am not sure what you want me to say, Kyo," he admitted helplessly, feeling strangely defeated; over what? He had no idea. Just some sort of sinking feeling. It was like being in temple as a child; all this overwhealming talk of such things. "I am not knowing why you are telling me this, or why you are asking all these questions--I am sorry.."
The whole thing troubled him, now, and he wasn't exactly sure why. But.

With his left hand he placed it on Seyfi's chest, just above the heart before pushing the other back slightly away from him. They were no longer in a hug; he hated the weird feeling crawling up his skin and into his very head. Apparently the heart and head was at a sudden argument. He had no reason to let the foreigner live a minute longer, but he also had no reason to kill him either. "Because the last thing we want to see before we die is not darkness," Kyo let it be that way, not sure why he was even discussing it.
"Though I am darkness itself and people will witness me before it comes to an end. Not my choice, but I do it to protect people. People like you, like them," his hand lifted towards a family that was heading home. "And I don't want to but that's just to bad, isn't it?"
Now he dismissed the talk of death and dying all together and gave Seyfi a grin. "We can pretend like we didn't meet, I'll go my way and you can go back to your life," he was talking about the meaningless ones.

A smarter man would have virtually leapt at the offer of forgetting everything that had just taken place. More clever ones would have ended the conversation halfway, let alone all the way to its...eccentric conclusion. Seyfi, unfortunately, does not let his head do the thinking in such situations, and for such would be what people call an idiot. That's what honest people are, really.
Despite all the morbid turns and enigmatic things Kyo'd said, something made Seyfi want to find out what this boy was after, what was bothering him--it seemed to be the case, but it was difficult to read.
"I..well," he fumbled, "if that's what you want, of course..I hope I didn't offend you.."

Kyo came to a halt in his movements, his posture suddenly mocking that of an ancient statue. Eyes were glued on Seyfi's face, the irises glowing with the sun set that settled behind the other man. His head suddenly motioned to the right, one step at a time: clockwork. "I called you out and intervened into your life. There is no offense here, unless the offense lies within you?" he was asking Seyfi if he offended him. The scabbard rest neatly on the ground, handle of the katana still in hand. If he carried a blade that didn't make him less human and more of a man, they were the same either way. Kyo did hope it would transform him into something else.
"I've never claimed to want anything, but if you want something..tell me."

Seyfi sighed, looking back up at the darkening sky. It was late; hardly anyone out now. He had a pretty good idea that this fellow was just going to end up wandering around all night. Despite the eccentricities he exuded (and there were a lot), Kyo didn't seem like a bad person.
"Look," he said, bringing his gaze back down to the stranger's. "I seem to have perhaps..not really regarded you as respectfully as I could have; I am sorry about that. If you need a place to stay for the evening, or just a meal, I would be happy to oblige."

Now it was the talk of need, no, he didn't need any of those things. If he had needed them he would be taking advantage of Seyfi's kindness. That never went well with him, but he nodded his head like he was saying 'yes'. His steps took him forward towards Seyfi, no matter what he did he would always find himself near to someone else. It could've been an act of loneliness, even though he was stubborn and denied it. "Do you offer these luxuries to everyone?" it was an innocent question.

"Ehh, can't say that I do," Seyfi admitted, scratching the back of his neck, but offering a bit of a smile. "I mean, occaisionally, when it feels like the right thing to do. Besides," he added quickly, in an attempt to make the offer more practical, "half of the second floor is vacant anyway, and my workers did not stay for the supper tonight. It would be no trouble."
Truth be told, Seyfi was just plain curious what else this person had to say, and it was a change from the same old quiet evenings. Guests always made the place feel more livable, in his opinion. Even if they were. Eh. A bit 'off'.

So this feels right Kyo thought to himself as he nodded his head yes for a second time. If it felt right it must've been ok, but what made it ok to make it right? "Company..would be all right," he was finally accepting the proposal, whatever it was. It could've been anything else. "But my purpose is for knowledge," he suddenly lifted the scabbard and placed it in the holster of his belt. Once done with that his hands fell to his side. This was proof he had let his defense go down, not like he believed there was danger in Seyfi.

"If it is knowledge about the world beyond here, then...I am thinking I can provide some insight," Seyfi said, gesturing with his arm inside and walking in. He set the list and quill he'd had in his hands the whole time down on the edge of a table, trading it off for the cloth he'd left there and carefully tossed it over the objects.
"These are just the small things," he said as an afterthought, shrugging. Pointing towards the curtained back room, "The better ones are in there. But if I was knowing what you particularly were interested in looking at, I could find it for you...ehhhh, if you are having a particular country in mind, of course."
